The Maintenance team was on the verge of purchasing materials to build several barricades to protect drivers from the extreme hazard associated with the huge slide on Creston Drive when Tom Bush contacted the McDowell County Emergency Management organization to inquire whether they might have some resources that Creston could avail itself of. William Kehler, the Emergency Management director, arrived very soon thereafter with a trailer load of signs, cones and barricades which were quickly deployed at the site. Many thanks to McDowell County and Will for the very valuable assistance with our urgent need. That saved a lot of time and an unknown amount of money and provided us with the most effective warning tools.

As a reminder: until further notice, passage across the failure zone is limited to vehicles with ony two axles and the maximum speed is a strict 5 mph.
