Bridge Out on Catawba Trail

The huge rain event this past Monday resulted in the water flow on the Catawba River headwaters in Creston to dislodge one of the the very heavy steel I-beam bridges on the Catawba trail. Until the Trails Committee can arrange for it to be restored to its proper location, crossing the river at this point may be difficult (and wet!). It is likely that there may be other trail sections that have been damaged by the high waters. Anyone discovering such problems should report them to the Communications Committee who, in turn, will notify the members of the Trails Committee.
