Front Gate Repainted
Many Crestonites have noticed over the past few years that our front gate was starting to look a little shabby, with many rust spots and fading paint. One proposed solution was to have it "powder coated" as it had been when first installed. This option would have cost $750 for the treatment plus the cost to disassemble it, transport it to and from a commercial specialist in Asheville and then reinstall it back on site. Furthermore, our community would have been wide open for several days during the process.
An alternative was to clean the gate, remove the rust with wire brushes and grinders and then prime and repaint in place using community volunteers. This option won the vote and the work was completed today for the total cost of $32.28. It looks as good as new!
