This past winter, here on the mountain, we experienced some of the strangest climate and weather patterns we have had in many years. December into January provided sub-zero record cold temperatures; however, other than a dusting of snow and a little sleet, we have not had any measurable snowfall so far this year. That makes me think we should watch out for an early spring snowfall. On March 4th we held a Town Hall Meeting at the Community Center and had 36 attendees. The Creston Connect team organized a potluck dinner and the Board facilitated the meeting that followed.
Unfortunately, we experienced some technical difficulties with the Zoom connectivity, and we were not able to get the Zoom to work. I do apologize for any inconvenience. The Town Hall meeting notes were sent out in a recent IPM Broadcast. We need your help to secure our community center. Over the past several months, there has been an increase in the number of times the doors at the Community Center have been left unlocked and/or the lights have been left on. If you use the community center, including the fitness center in the lower level, please be sure to lock all doors and turn off the lights before you leave. If you are unsure how to lock the doors, please contact a board member Creston is looking for volunteers. (1) We will have three open Board of Director’s positions available July 1st. Please consider self-nominating. (2) The Board Secretary position is open effective July 1st. In addition, one ARC member is rotating off effective August 1st. We encourage you to get involved in the various positions and committees we have here in our community.
Be sure to mark your calendars for joining us for the annual meeting scheduled for June 24th at the Creston Community Center. More details will be provided as we get closer to the date.
Best Regards,
Kevin Zimmer
